Hm, I have to disagree a bit with this. The graphics in AoC are good, but they are not amazing, the character models are pretty bad...at least the female models. Just look at them while they are standing in the combat stance...if you think that looks amazing you're on crack. Male characters look alright, better than both EQ2 / VG.
Characters do look great during their creation though, better than any other game I've played (pretty much every MMO released, free or paid). The environments are ok, but still look fake..too shiny / bumpy, except the water, that does look great
