| My parents got their money today and it was like 638 dollars. The difference nearly matched what they had to pay in spillover the year before so they thought they were charged twice on accident.
After spending a half hour on the phone, no. It was just a coincidence and the stimulus check is rated according to your income. Apparently the IRS has been flooded with calls all day since the checks went out from people who want to know where their money is.
The media has done a pretty fucking piss poor job of explaining how this is going to work so expect news stories about this.
