| I find it odd how often people want to compare AoC to VG. I know VG is something of a baseline on what not to do now, but I don't get that VG feel to this game. Not nearly the amount of NBA breaking, nor bashing that VG got. What I do see is spec comparisons.
Which makes me wonder, was Brad kind of right techwise, and did his game simply launch 12 - 18 months too early? How close are release VG specs to AoC specs? How close to recommended are they? It does seem that the technology catch up that Brad felt was going to happen, has indeed done so to a large degree, just a couple of years later then he thought it would.
I'm not saying that clears any of the issues with VG. And we did know that eventually the tech would push upwards. But the changes have seemed to be more subtle rather then the massive "next gen thing" that often happens in computer hardware.
