I will preface the question: I quit game 3 years ago. The last tough mob I dealt with was Trak, when very few servers were taking him down.

The question:

Aside from your FA, has any reward this game sees fit to produce EVER been more exciting than your first FBSS or Jboots (Or perhaps that very very first Ice Comet scroll)? Please be as honest as possible.

As for me, the whistling fist robe was incredible (absolute max haste when combined with a mundane haste item), but holy shit did they nerf that thing straight to Hades.

Everything else I've read about since then just seems like the same fucking carrot, with a 5% increase per quarter.
