I haven't seriously watched 24 in the past few seasons so can someone fill me in on what's up with Tony?

From what I remember, Tony has a vile of some kind of liquid that is supposedly strong enough to kill a man. He is going to inject into to the man that killed his wife and almost killed him, but at the last second the man wakes up, grabs the vile from Tony, and injects Tony with it. Moments later Jack comes rushing into the room to find Tony on the floor. You assume Tony is dead but after that scene you never see the body. I guess they could claim that Tony was wrong and had the wrong amount or wrong type of liquid and that's why he isn't dead. However, I wouldn't buy it because Tony is the fucking man and wouldn't fuck up like that.
