No, they really don't mind the huge groups of Japanese tourists. They just hate us because we stole their islands. :-/ Not all Islanders really care, but I found a lot that didn't really mind whites, but would still call you a "howly" in a heartbeat. It's pretty much like calling a black person a nigger, except Hawaiins use it for whites.
