The
War of the Spider Queen series doesn't involve Drizzt, and it gives a bit of insight into Drow culture. The focus is on a group of Drow that "band together" (I use that term loosely) to find out what happened to Lloth, who mysteriously vanished.
It's a 6 book series, and it's pretty good...does fall apart a bit at the end, and I thought book 5 was written somewhat oddly (each book is by a different author), but it was entertaining nonetheless. All are available on paperback by now.
