The way Erikson weaves his stories together aren't really popcorn reading. You have to be more attentive or you'll miss too much for things to be coherent. His style is also much more wordy and descriptive, by that virtue making it a more difficult read. It's like reading a typical comic book, then reading The Brothers Karamazov.
