usc plays nobody in conference and they get branded the greatest team of the decade every year. take that shit somewhere else.
USC plays no one in conference, but they crush ooc opponents in bowls.

OSU, UM, UW (maybe) are on par with the best SEC teams. PSU can occasionally beat the likes of Tenn (so can Clemson), but has been terribly inconsistent the last 5-6 years. Illinois = laff. Every 10 years or so, they play up in a weak conference and get crushed by real competition in a BCS bowl (see Florida, USC).

The SEC champion has crushed the Big 10 champion the last two years. There are 6-7 SEC teams consistently in the top 25. Once you get below about #3 in the Big 10, you basically have the Big East. The Big 10 was awful last year, top to bottom.

Also, there was a time when the Big 10 had a coaching edge. Now look at the SEC coaches. There are 5 national championship winning coaches in the SEC (and 1 who's team was denied the chance to play: the only undefeated SEC champion in history never to play for a NC). Ron Zook is a good coach in the Big 10 these days (see above re Illinois).

Edit: The reason ESPN says the same thing is because it was fucking obvious watching both games that OSU was unprepared. Either Tressel got outcoached by Les fuckin Miles or OSU shat themselves. You pick I guess.
