The first one is bad but just average enough to get you to buy the second novel, and then the second novel is pure shit. Its cliche stuff and the characters argue and whine over every little thing, which is a huge pet peeve of mine, so naturally I hated it. But yeah, the cover looked cool so I got it as well when it came out. Damn you shiny things!
