i'm in favor of a very limited bowl system. maybe +1 or +2 games. i don't want a full blown bowl because every saturday during the regular season is full of awesomeness because it has meaning. march madness is great to watch, but the whole season beforehand is yawn. i don't want that to happen to cfb.

you should dig a little deeper concerning the osu hate. the osu hate firstly comes from the media. espn knocks osu more than any other program. part of it may be due to the nc losses sure, but you didn't hear the same outcry vs stanford/usc or any other upset. they don't even rag on ou. the nc losses are more like a platform to hate, rather than the reason for it.

what's happening is that colleges and networks are realizing college sports is bigtime $. more and more people are going to college vs the 60's and 70's, so more people want to watch these events, esp football. abc/espn has been the sole recipient of this cash cow, and recently, people are starting to wise up. fox bought the rights to every bcs bowl but the rose (espn's contract with them runs to '10). obviously espn doesn't appreciate this. cue the big10 network, 49% owned by fox. who is the big10 network's main revenue generator and the big10 conf flagship program? osu. should this network succeed, it will be VERY dangerous for espn, because other confs like the pac10 or sec could do the same. with major conf games going to exclusive networks and bcs bowls being bought by fox, there will be very, very sad faces in the corp meeting rooms at espn. the best way to combat this is to religiously rail on the big10 and tout how utterly terrible the flagship program, osu, is via their huge market outlets. the two past nc games have unfortunately given them tons of ammo. if you'll notice during college gameday or sports center, they try to minimize exposure of any big10 news. for example, last year when mich beat florida in the cap bowl, if you noticed espn's cfb main site had no main pic or anything concerning it, was just a small blurb, regardless of how entertaining the game was to watch. the idea here is through slick marketing, they can minimize the effect that fox and the big10 network can have on their bottom line. and it seems to be working somewhat.
