No, not really. If you have Social IV and Connections III or IV, then you're pretty much earning standing as fast as you can by running combat missions. Just keep upgrading agents whenever you get a chance, and always do the storyline mission that is offered every 16 missions.
A different way to improve speed would just be increasing combat skills or flying a better ship to tear through the missions more quickly.
