I wouldn't get your hopes up at all about any bot/farmer control. Although I'm very much looking forward to this game, I'm extremely concerned if it ends up being run by the same crew that ran/runs NA Lineage 2. Those people are the most monumental retards in the history of MMORPGs, possibly even eclipsing the Vanguard newb crew. In fact, I was very proudly banned after politely informing their Community Rep what a fucking idiot he was (he'd never played an MMORPG before - not to mention his sub-80 IQ).
There was exactly *ZERO* bot/farmer control in Lineage 2, and when I bailed out every server seemed to have more Chinese than North Americans on it. Huge areas of the world, including entire dungeons, were "owned" by the Chinese farmers and 100% off-limits to any NA players. NC-Soft did nothing at all about any of this crap, of course (hey, those Chinese were the majority of their paying customers). This leaves aside that well over 80% of the "normal" players openly bought in-game currency with RL cash.
Other things to worry about if their NA L2 morons get to "English-ize" Aion include them having nobody that actually understands English beyond about First Grade level (sort of like most U.S. High School kids these days), so the translation will be horrible. They also have exactly zero programmers with any talent/skill at all, so any special work that the NA version needs just plain won't happen unless they get a huge amount of subs.
I'm afraid that although Aion might be an awesome game in its original - Korean - state, we English-speaking types are going to be very disappointed with what NC-Soft's NA crew comes up with for our version.
I managed to get in the Taiwanese beta of Lineage 2 with a few tips and tricks (as I recall, this involved translating some Chinese-language sites, using proxies, etc.), so hopefully we'll get a look at this thing soon during some Asian beta a few months before any NA beta starts up.
