Boys can dream, and men may hope but such a thing will never exist.
The glory of Fallout is split between the dialogue tree and how you could interact with the world. Did someone piss you off? Shoot them. Or, if you have stealing, plant armed explosives on them and run away. Or inject them with drugs and watch them freak out. Or take a fucking sledgehammer to their skull. The amount of style and flavor involved in the simple act of killing someone is staggering. More than that, all of your actions had repercussions due to the Karma system, which for some reason no other game I know of will rip off. Why? It's one of the simplest and easiest ways to add character depth. Companies with the balls to do a game like Fallout don't exist anymore, so I'm not exactly bemoaning over the endless delay of a Fallout mmo because it just won't be the same. I don't even care about F3 coming out this fall.
PS. Shooting a kid in the groin with a rocket launcher. Ballsiest shit a real game company has ever done.
