| VG leveling is actually pretty well made, since it pleases both sides of the leveling crowd. You get more xp while grouping, but you can still solo if for some reason you don't like/don't want grouping. Such as weird hours, just logging for 10-15mins, shitty class and so on. I actually soloed most of my time in VG, and was leveling rather fast. Much slower than WoW, but at a decent rate that didn't give me the feeling I was playing a korean mmo(the fact it was quest based and not grind based helped).
It's a much better system than forced grouping in my opinion. It worked before, and can probably still work(FFXI is still forced grouping I guess?), but I'm definitely not going to play such a game, I hate being dependant on pugs and I dislike having to setup hours and shit to meet with people to level, I just like to log in, level as much as I want, then log off and do something else. That can mean leveling 16hours in a row, or leveling 2hours then watching movies for the rest of the night.
I'd be tempted to play VG again if I wasn't raiding 5nights a week again due to 2.4 on wow, and still playing lotro on the side. Guess it'll wait a bit, the more stuff they patch in, the better the game gets anyway, so trying it later won't be an issue. |
