I also listen to it,It's on on the way into work,at work all day and on the way home. When you drive people in to work generally the radio is a better choice as it's mostly talk in the morning so everyone can hear the news. At work there is about 40 people and about 8 radios spread out throughout my shop. Now when you have that many people of varying ages and that many radios, compromises must be set.
Classic Rock stations are generally ok, ours in Vancouver spends to much time talking, and plays to much "soft" classic rock, like the police and what not. Then there is country which can fuck off, or the pop stations which don't fly with anyone, so you're left with modern rock, and we only have one in Vancouver and it's apparently the top one in Canada.
But it's like Dauntless said, they play shit on the radio and the DJ's bitch about it, Music is in a sad state of affairs. out of the 10 top selling acts of the 2000's only two were rock oriented, Linkin Park and fucking Nickleback.
It's bands like Tool,Metallica, and the hope of reunions like the rumored STP and Rage actually making an Album. Velvet revolver is just simply OK, maybe the new AiC album will do something. Rock music exploded during the 90's ,a ton of genres and a ton of really great bands came out of it all but few exist today, It's unfortunate because in the 90's there was so much great rock out there and stuff that was actually commercially accessible to.
When I go home I can listen to what I want and there is cool stuff out there from some lesser known bands being released, but it's not like it has been pre 2000's where you could tune into a radio station and actually hear current good music.
IT sucks.
