Err, I take offense! The Mariners spend money...on giant piles of shit. They have the most horrible management in any team sport in the world.
Anyways, Favre retiring is a surprise after how well he played last year, but it makes sense. He wants to go out on a decently high note. He breaks some records, gets deep in the playoffs, it's all good. He doesn't want to come back next year and fucking tank. He's scared.
