I'll use the most popular as an example. Take Drizzt and the Dark elf Chronicles, then the crystal shard, and yadda yadda. The game would be in the forgotten realms world, but then as content you could play through the, say Dark Elf Trilogy as content. Then after those three, they could release the Crystal Sard Triliogy as content as well. And of course there are tons of characters and places and times in the Forgotten Realm universe that could be used.
Then as content updates or expansions, they could release other " Books" and "Trilogies" ( since everything in fantasy seems to come in three's). I think that it would be awesome for lore, story, items, just about everything.
